Socket Mobile Scanner - Programming for use with LSX or LSR

This article reviews programming the Socket Mobile S700 Series scanners, as well as the CHS-7ci and CHS-7di for use with Lightspeed X-Series (LSX) and R-Series (LSR) POS apps.

Program the Scanner for use with LSX

iOS Application Mode 

Application Mode is the standard configuration.  It allows the application to searchthe fields that the application designates as searchable, like the barcode fields only in LSX.

• Scan the following barcodes
  • #FNB00F40002# - Application Mode for Apple Devices

• #FNB00F507C60408FFEB010000# - Suffix – CR&LF

• #FNB012100000000# - Scanner Always On

HID Mode

HID Mode causes the device to work like a keyboard.  Similar to a keyboard, control has to be on a field looking for text entry, like a Search box.

This mode is used to search in the Product Name as well as in the barcode fields

• Scan the following barcodes
  • #FNB00F40001# - HID Mode

• #FNB00F507C60408FFEB000000# - Data As Is (No Suffix)

OR

• #FNB00F507C60408FFEB010000# - Suffix – CR&LF
• #FNB012100000000# - Scanner Always On

Program the Scanner for use with LSR

iOS Application Mode

Application Mode is the standard and only configuration to use with LSR POS App because the app will auto-detect the scanner after it is paired to the iPad in iOS Settings

• Scan the following barcodes
  • #FNB00F40002# - Application Mode for Apple Devices

• #FNB00F507C60408FFEB010000# - Suffix – CR&LF

• #FNB012100000000# - Scanner Always On
