This article reviews how to Remove and Replace the battery.
Please follow these instructions only if you are instructed to do so by the iPOS Support Team.
Remove the Battery
Flip the terminal on its face. The bottom of the device and battery cover will be upright
Using either a small flat screwdriver or your fingernail, gently pull up and remove the battery cover from the bottom left corner of the device
Using a non-metal tool or your finger, gently remove the battery starting from the lower right corner
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
This will drain any residual power from the device.
Release the power button
Replace the battery
Insert the top of the battery, so the terminals in the device line up with the terminal receptors on the battery.
Press the battery securely in place.
Replace the battery cover by inserting the three plastic tabs at the top first.
From the top of the battery cover, gently press the cover down on both sides, listening for the tabs to click.
To confirm the cover is installed properly, turn the device on one side at a time, confirming there is no space between the cover and terminal
Place the terminal in the dock, if you use a dock, making sure it is seated properly
Power the terminal on by pressing and holding the power button until the terminal starts to power on.
When the terminal is on the idle screen (Lightspeed logo in the middle) the Terminal is ready for use. Please be sure to perform a test transaction and confirm the terminal is operating properly.
