In this example, we will be using a Socket CHS-7DI barcode scanner but will be using the programming barcodes for a Socket S730 barcode scanner.
We will be performing a pairing reset of the scanner, a factory reset of the scanner, configure the scanner in iOS Application Mode, configure the scanner to only output data as it is scanned (without any prefixes or suffixes) and pair the scanner with an iPad for use in the LSX POS App.
- Power the scanner on by pressing and holding the power button for two to three seconds until you hear two ascending tones.
- Make sure that the scanner is not currently paired with an iPad by scanning the below programming barcode named "Pairing Reset".
- Scan the below programming barcode named "Factory Reset". You will hear three ascending tones and five descending tones and the scanner will power off.
- Power the scanner on by pressing and holding the power button for two to three seconds until you hear two ascending tones.
- Scan the below programming barcode named "iOS Application Mode for Apple Devices (Default)" and you will hear three ascending tones.
- Scan the below programming barcode named "Data As Is" and you will hear three ascending tones.
- Tap "Settings" on your iPad.
- In the left hand window pane, make sure that "Bluetooth" is enabled. If it isn't, enable it.
- In the main window pane, tap "Bluetooth".
- In the main window pane named "Bluetooth", you will see a listing under the section named "Other Devices" for the Socket scanner.
- Tap that listing to pair it with the iPad.
- Once paired, it will now be listed in the section named "My Devices" with a status of "Connected".
