[LSR] New Options Regarding Ringing Up Sales and Creating Workorders

Lightspeed Retail R Series has just added two sets of new options that can be configured in your account.

The first set of options pertains to ringing up sales and the second set of options pertains to creating workorders.

Please note that these options take effect over all locations in an account in Lightspeed Retail R Series.

This article is separated into two sections listed below.

Configuring the First Set of Options Pertaining to Ringing Up Sales

  1. Log into Lightspeed Retail R Series here.
  2. In the left hand window pane, click "Settings".

  1. In the main window pane, click "General Options" in the section named "General".

  1. In the main window pane under the section named "General" and then "Register", the two new options are named "Create Separate Sales Lines When Adding Units of the Same Item" and "Create Separate Sale Lines When Adjusting Quantities".

  1. When you enable the new option named "Create Separate Sale Lines When Adding Units of the Same Item", each scan or search of the same item creates a new line in the checkout, rather than adding to the quantity sold counter. For example: We will be adding two of the same items to this sales receipt with the first one on its own line and the second one on its own line.

  1. When you enable the new option named "Create Separate Sale Lines When Adjusting Quantities", it will create a new line item when quantity is adjusted.  For example: If you change the item quantity from 1 to 2, Lightspeed Retail will create two separate line items.  Please note that this option can only be enabled when the option named "Create Separate Sales Lines When Adding Units of the Same Item" is enabled.

Configuring the Second Set of Options Pertaining to Ringing Up Sales

  1. Log into Lightspeed Retail R Series here.
  2. In the left hand window pane, click "Settings".

  1. In the main window pane, click "General Options" in the section named "General".

  1. In the main window pane under the section named "General" and then "Service", the two new options are named "Create Separate Workorder Lines When Adding Units of the Same Item" and "Create Separate Workorder Lines When Adjusting Quantities".

  1. When you enable the new option named "Create Separate Workorder Lines When Adding Units of the Same Item", each scan or search of the same item creates a new line in the checkout, rather than adding to the quantity sold counter.
