[LSX] How to Add and View Product Locations

Keeping track of where inventory is located can be a challenge for merchants who store products in their warehouse or across multiple locations.  With product locations you can record and view where your products are stored at the Aisle, Bay, Shelf, and Bin level per outlet right in Lightspeed Retail X Series POS.

Understanding Product Locations

Adding product location details can help you and your staff quickly find where products are stored in your warehouse without having to memorize locations or set up separate tracking.

Users with Create and edit products user permissions can set up product locations or both standard and variant products.

Product locations feature the Aisle, Bay, Shelf, and Bin the product is in.

The product location fields:

• Are optional.
• Accept alphanumeric characters.
• Have a limit of 255 characters.

You can record 2 product locations per SKU, per outlet.

Adding Product Locations

1. Log into Lightspeed Retail X Series.
2. In the left hand window pane, click "Catalog".

3. In the sub window pane, click "Products".

4. Click the pencil icon next to the product you'd like to edit.

5. In the Edit product page, scroll down to the Inventory section named "Inventory Levels".

6. Click the field for "Product location".

7. Enter the Aisle, Bay, Shelf and/or Bin location information.  You can add an additional location by clicking "+ Add another location".

8. In the upper right corner, click "Save".

Product locations can also be added in Lightspeed Scanner.

Viewing Product Locations in Your Catalog

1. Log into Lightspeed Retail X Series.
2. In the left hand window pane, click "Catalog".

3. In the sub window pane, click "Products".

4. Click the arrow next to the product you're looking for to expand the row.

5. In the Inventory tab, review the information in the Product location column but outlet.

Product locations can also be viewed in Lightspeed Scanner.

Viewing Product Locations on the Sell Screen

1. Log into Lightspeed Retail X Series.
2. In the left hand window pane, click "Sell".

3. In the Search for products box, enter a product name or SKU code and click on the product you're looking for.

4. Click the arrow next to the product name to expand the row.

5. Click "Show Inventory & Details".

6. In the Inventory tab, review the information in the Product location column by outlet.
