This article will instruct you on how to download, install, and configure the Nexus Apps for Lightspeed Retail R Series Google Chrome extension as well as make the necessary configurations in your QBF company file for this Accounts Receivable IIF modification.
Please note that setup should be performed on your workstation that is your QBF Desktop server.
- Open Google Chrome.
- Go to the link here.
- Click "Add to Chrome".
- Click "Add extension".
- Click "Close".
- Log into Lightspeed Retail as an admin user so that the add on can be authorized to your Lightspeed Retail account.
- In the left hand window pane, click "Settings".
- In the main window pane, click "Nexus Apps" under the section named "General".
- In the main window pane, scroll down until you see the add on named "QuickBooks Extract".
- In the upper right hand corner of the add on named "QuickBooks Extract", click the button to activate the add on.
- The "QuickBooks Extract" add on has now been activated.
- In the left hand window pane, click "Reports".
- In the main window pane, scroll down until you see a section named "Nexus Apps" and click the report named "QuickBooks Extract".
- In the main window pane, you will see a listing of when the last extract was performed. In this example, the last extract that was performed was for 01/29/24.
- For this example, we are going to enter a date range for 01/26/24 only.
- Click "Generate IIF file" to have it create the IIF file that will be imported into QBF Desktop.
- You will see that the IIF file has been generated and downloaded to your Downloads folder on the workstation.
- Open your QBF Desktop company file and log in as the Admin user.
- Open "Chart of Accounts" in your QBF Desktop company file.
- Find the account named "Other Current Assets" to "POS Credit Accounts".
- Open "Items & Services" in your QBF Desktop company file.
- Create a new account named "LSPOS A/R Offset Item" as a non-inventory part that is mapped to the "POS Credits Account" that is also non taxable and has a price of $0.00.
- Create another new account named "LSPOS A/R Tax Placeholder" as a non-inventory part that is mapped to the "POS Credits Account" that is also non taxable and has a price of $0.00.
- Go to "File", "Utilities", "Import", and then click "IIF Files".
- Click "OK" to close all windows in QuickBooks.
- Click "Import IIF".
- Select the generated IIF file that was created earlier and click "Open".
- Once the import has completed, you will be shown stats for the import. In this example, there were three successful transactions imported.
- Click "Done".
- Go into "Customers" and locate a customer that had transactions imported. In this example, we will see three transactions dated 01/26/24.
- The import of the IIF file has completed.
