Please follow the steps below to clear the documents queued to print in the Windows print queue.
First follow the instructions below to get to Devices and Printers in the version of Windows that is installed on your workstation.
Windows 7
- Click the Windows Start Button.
- Click “Devices and Printers”.
Windows 8/8.1
- Mouse over where the Windows Start Button Used to be in the very bottom left hand corner.
- When the tile icon appears, right click it.
- In the menu that appears, two-thirds of the way down, click "Control Panel".
- Click “Devices and Printers”.
Windows 10
- Right click the Windows Start Button.
- Click “Control Panel”.
- Click “Devices and Printers”.
After you have gotten to "Devices and Printers" on your workstation, follow the steps below to clear the documents from the print queue for the printer in question.
Windows 7/8/8.1/10
- Click on your printer definition. In "Status: xx document(s) waiting to print", xx represents the number of documents in the queue waiting to be printed.
- Right click on the printer definition.
- Click "See What’s Printing".
- In the box that appears, click "Printer".
- Click "Cancel All Documents".
- Wait for all documents to disappear. If all but one are removed you may need to either stop/start the Windows Print Queue Service or Restart your computer.
