- Please save any files that you may have open and close all programs. You may be required to reboot the workstation at a point during the installation.
- Unpack the printer and plug in the power cable.
- Plug the USB cable into the back of the printer but do not plug it into a USB port on the workstation.
- Turn the printer on by using the power switch in the back of the tag printer.
- Go to the following webpage http://www.tscprinters.com/cms/theme/index-39.html, download and save the latest Windows printer driver from the “Driver & Software” menu. Choose the driver with the highest version number. All TSC printers use the same driver.
- From the location of the downloaded file, open and run the driver file.
- You may be prompted by a Windows User Account Control request, if so please click “Yes”. You may also be prompted to enter credentials for a user that has administrator privileges, if so please enter the necessary credentials.
- Accept the license agreement and then click Next.
- Leave the installation path as it is “C:\Seagull” and then click Next.
- Make sure that the option for “Run Driver Wizard after unpacking drivers” is checked, then uncheck the option for “Read Installation instructions (contained in ‘Installation_Instructions.html’) and then click Finish.
- Click the option for “Install printer drivers” and then click Next.
- When prompted “How is this printer going to be attached?”, click the radio button for “USB”.
- Now plug the USB cable from the tag printer into an available USB port on the workstation. Once the USB cable from the tag printer has been plugged into an available USB port on the workstation, it will start installing the drivers for the TSC TDP-225 tag printer.
- You will then be prompted to “Install a driver for a Plug and Play printer” with the TSC TDP-225 printer listed. Click the button labeled “Next>”.
- You will then be asked to name the printer. Please leave the printer name as it is listed. Do not check the option “Use the printer as the default printer”.
- Make sure that the radio button for “Do not share this printer” is checked and then click the button labeled “Next>”.
- You will then be prompted to finish “Completing the Seagull Driver Wizard”. Click the button labeled “Finish”.
- You may receive a Windows Security prompt asking if you “Would like to install this device software?”. Check the option “Always trust software from “Seagull Scientific, Inc.”” and then click the button labeled “Install”.
- You will then be notified that the “Seagull Driver Wizard Completed Successfully”. Click the button labeled “Close”.
- Go to the Control Panel in Windows and then go to Devices and Printers.
- You will now see a printer named “TSC TDP-225”. Right click on the printer and then click Printer Properties.
- In the TSC TDP-225 Properties window, click on the tab named “Ports”.
- Scroll down until you see the TSC TDP-225 printer listed with the port that it is installed on. Please write down this port here as it will be needed.
- Once you have documented the name of the port that the TSC TDP-225 printer has been installed on, you may close the properties window for the printer and then close any other open windows or programs.
- Go to the following webpage http://www.zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads/desktop/lp-2824.html, download and save the latest Zebra Setup Utilities for Windows 10.
- From the location of the downloaded file, open and run the driver file.
- You may be prompted by a Windows User Account Control request, if so please click “Yes”. You may also be prompted to enter credentials for a user that has administrator privileges, if so please enter the necessary credentials.
- Click Next.
- Check the option for “I accept the terms of the license agreement” and then click Next.
- Leave the installation path as it is and then click Next.
- Leave the program folder name as it is and then click Next.
- Click Next to begin configuration.
- In the window named “Important Information”, please check the option for “I have read the information above” and then click Next.
- In the window named “Completing the InstallAware Wizard for Zebra Setup Utilities”, please make sure that the option for “Run Zebra Setup Utilities now” is checked, make sure that the option for “Read Readme” is unchecked and then click Finish.
- In the window named “Preloading Drivers”, please click Next.
- In the window named “Printer Driver”, please make sure that the option for “USB (Universal Serial Bus)” is checked and then click Next.
- In the window named “Install Printer Driver”, please click the button named Manual Install.
- In the window named “Welcome”, please click Next.
- In the window named “Installation Options”, please click Install Printer.
- In the window named “Select Printer”, please scroll down in the Printers area until you get to “ZDesigner LP 2824”, click that printer listing and then click Next.
- In the window named “Printer Options”, please scroll in the “Available ports” area until you find the USB port name that you wrote down in step #10.
- Click the USB port name you obtained in step #10 and then click Next.
- In the window named “Additional Install Options”, please uncheck both options and then click Finish.
- You may receive a window stating “The driver is locked by another process”. If you receive this message, please click Next.
- Close the Zebra Setup Utilities by first clicking Finish and then Close.
- In QuickBooks Point of Sale, go into the Hardware Setup Wizard under the File menu.
- Click on Tag & Label printer in the left hand window pane.
- In the right hand windows pane, scroll down in the listing of already installed and setup printers until you see “ZDesigner LP 2824”, click that printer and then click Next.
- At this point, you may choose to print a test page to the tag printer. If you want to print a test page, please make sure that your labels are loaded properly in the tag printer. If you do not want to print a test page, please click Leave.
- Make sure that the printer listed is the “ZDesigner LP 2824” printer.
- Then click the radio button for whichever type of labels you currently have loaded in the tag printer.
- Once the type of labels loaded in the tag printer have been selected, click Print Test Page.
- Three identical test labels will be printed. If they printed properly, please click Test Successful and then click Leave. If they did not print properly or at all, please contact Individual Point of Sale at (570)906-8598 option #3 for support.
- For the tag printer to function properly in QuickBooks Point of Sale, you must choose the printer named “ZDesigner LP 2824” and not the printer named “TSC TDP-225”.
Note: If you ever need to disconnect the tag printer from your workstation, you MUST reconnect the tag printer to the same USB port that it was originally installed on. If you do not do this, you will not be able to print to the tag printer in Point of Sale without additional support.
