Revel 2.70 Combo Improvements

With Version 2.70, there have been several improvements made to Group Combos and Upsell Combos to make the experience more streamlined. These include:

  • The product upcharge amount can now be used to increase the combo price for both upsell and group combos
  • You may now attach multiple upsell combos to a single base product
  • You may control the prompts for an upsell combo, having it prompt, not prompt, or be required
  • You can create a group or split combo by selecting a product on your order, adding the combo and then adding the rest of the products
  • Group combos are now displayed on the KDS

Upcharge Amount for Upsell and Group Combos

The product upcharge amount can now be used to increase the combo price for both Upsell and Group combos. You can add a Default Product Upcharge Amount to any product that increases the cost of a combo. To do this:

  1. In the Management Console ([yoursubdomain].revelup.com), go to the Products tab.
  2. Find the product you want to edit (expand the Category and Subcategory) and click the  icon in line with it:
  3. Next, click Clear Selections and type Upcharge in the search box.
  4. Check the box for Default Product Upcharge Amount so the setting appears on the right side of the screen.
  5. Next, fill out the Default Product Upcharge Amount field. This is an additional amount that will be charged when this product is ordered as part of a Group or Upsell combo.
  6. Click Save:

For Group Combos, enable the Increase Group Combo Price Based on Product Upcharge Amount on the combo itself. Learn how to create a Group Combo here. Once your combo is created:

  1. In the Management Console, go to the Products tab.
  2. Find the combo product you want to edit and click the  icon in line with it:
  3. Next, click Clear Selections and type Increase in the search box.
  4. Check the box for Group Combo so the settings appear on the right side of the screen.
  5. Next, enable Increase Group Combo Price Based on Product Upcharge Amount if you want Product Upcharge Amounts from child products added to the cost of the group combo. *Please note, this is not availale in Online Ordering 1.0.
  6. Click Save:

Attach Multiple Upsell Combos to a Single Base Product

Now you can attach multiple upsell combos to a single base product. You can set sort order and price for each. When on the Point of Sale, you'll be able to select which one you want when prompted (or you can select it by editing the product).

Please make sure you have multiple upsell combos created first. Learn how to create an upsell combo here.

To attach multiple upsell combos to a single base product:

  1. In the Management Console, go to the

    Products tab.

  2. Find the product you want to edit (expand the Category and Subcategory) and click the  icon in line with it:
  3. Click Clear Selections and type Upsell in the search box.
  4. Check the box for Upsell Combo so the setting appears on the right side of the screen.
  5. Click the + Add an Upsell Combo link:
  6. Select the upsell from the Upsell Name drop-down menu. Enter the Upsell Price. Adjust the Sort Order if preferred:
  7. Repeat Steps 6-7 until you've attached all desired upsell combos are attached to the product.
  8. Click Save when done.

Control Prompts for Upsell Combos

You can now edit the prompts of your upsell combos by editing the base product. To do this:

  1. In the Management Console, go to the

    Products tab.

  2. Find the product you want to edit (expand the Category and Subcategory) and click the  icon in line with it:
  3. Click Clear Selections and type Upsell in the search box.
  4. Check the box for Upsell Combo so the setting appears on the right side of the screen.
  5. Choose Yes, No, or Required from the Prompt for Upsell drop-down menu:
  6. Click Save when done.

Backing into Group Combos

Any product that is a member of a group or split combo will now have an Add Combo option available in the Product Details.


Group Combos on KDS

Group combos can now be displayed on the KDS. To enable:

  1. In the Management Console, go to the Establishment tab.
  2. Then go to the Kitchen Views page and select the KDS you want to edit.
  3. Next, go to the Common tab:
  4. Scroll down to the Combo Display section. You'll find the following options
    • Display Group Combo Name: If enabled, the products within a combo will be organized below the name of the combo. If grouping by item or time, the name of the combo will appear below the item.
    • Display Linked Combo Name: If enabled, the products in the combo, including the base product, will be displayed below the name of the linked combo. If grouping by item or time, the name of the linked combo will appear below the item.
    • Group by Base Product: If enabled, if the base product displays on a particular KDS, it will be used to group the products in the linked combo together. This applies only to order or ticket view and supersedes Display Linked Combo Name.
    • Display Combo Icon: If enabled, displays an icon next to any product that is a member of a combo. Tapping the icon will display all items in the combo whether they are filtering to the KDS or not:
  5. Once you've set your preferences, click Save.
