How to install the Ingenigo Tetra Lane 5000 pin pad terminal for Quickbooks Point of Sale Desktop version 19.0

Intuit is using a new Ingenico Tetra Lane 5000 pin pad terminal for credit card processing for QuickBooks Point of Sale Desktop version 19.0.  This new model pin pad terminal has two major differences to previous Ingenico pin pad terminals as it now has its own external power adapter and it also requires that a driver be installed on the workstation that will be using it.

Please note that QuickBooks Point of Sale Desktop version 19.0 must be installed on the workstation before the Ingenico Tetra Lane 5000 pin pad terminal can be installed and configured.

Install driver for the Ingenico Tetra Lane 5000 pin pad terminal

  1. On your workstation, open the File Explorer by clicking on the shortcut in the Taskbar.

  1. In the File Explorer address bar, enter the following location "C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale 19.0\Drivers\Ingenico\Lane5000" and then hit enter.

  1. Run the file named "IngenicoUSBDrivers_3.15_setup.exe"

  1. If you are presented with a User Account Control prompt to allow the installation of the drivers, follow the directions to provide an admin user account and password.
  2. Click "Next".

  1. Uncheck the option named "Uninstall Microsoft Usbser driver(s)" and then click "Next".

  1. Click "Install".

Configure Tetra Lane 5000 pin pad in QuickBooks Point of Sale version 19.0

  1. Plug the Tetra Lane 5000 power adapter into the back of the pin pad terminal and the other end into an AC outlet.
  2. Turn on the pin pad terminal and then plug the USB cable from the pin pad terminal into an available USB port on your workstation.
  3. Open QuickBooks Point of Sale version 19.0 on your workstation.
  4. Click "File" and then click "Hardware Setup Wizard".

  1. In the left hand window pane, click "PIN Pad Device".

  1. In the main window pane, click the drop down box for the model, click "Ingenico Tetra Lane 5000 Series PIN Pad (USB) and then click "Next".

  1. Click "Begin Test.
  2. Once the application and the Ingenico Tetra Lane 5000 pin pad terminal are connected, the pin pad terminal will power on and you will see a QuickBooks logo on the screen of the pin pad terminal.
  3. The application will now prompt you to either insert, swipe, or tap your card for a test transaction.
  4. Run a test sale in the application for $1.00 and then make sure you see it on the pin pad terminal.
  5. Either insert, swipe or tap your card and then select "Yes" on the pin pad terminal to run the transaction.
  6. Once you see "Approved" on the pin pad screen, it means that you're connection and ready to process credit cards using the Ingenico Tetra Lane 5000 pin pad terminal.
