How to reset and configure an Epson printer for Revel POS

How to Reset:

  1. Turn the Printer off.
  2. Use a paper clip or tip of a pen to press and hold the reset on the back of the printer.

  1. While holding the reset button, turn the printer on.  Continue to hold the reset button.
  2. After 5 seconds, a warning will print out.  Release the reset button.
  3. After about 5 more seconds, another sheet will print showing the factory reset IP address of the printer.  Newer Epson models will default to a DHCP address.

How to Configure:

  1. Open Google Chrome on a workstation connected to the Revel network.
  2. Enter the printer's IP address and hit Enter.
  3. The next page will direct you to enter the login credentials.
        Username: epson
        Password: epson
  4. Navigate to TCP/IP in the Configuration menu.
  5. Configure the following settings on this page:

  1. Get IP Address: Manual.
  2. Set using Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA): Disable.
  3. Set using PING: Disable.
  4. IP address: desired IP address of the printer.
  5. Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
  6. Default gateway: 192.168.22.1.
  7. Socket timeout value: 300.
  8. Click Submit.
  9. Click Reset or power cycle the printer.
