QuickBooks POS v11 & v12 Sunset on May 31, 2018

Intuit has announced QuickBooks Point of Sale v11 (2013) and v12 will be discontinued as of May 31, 2018.

On February 15, 2018, Intuit will begin communicating this information through software announcements, email, and on their website.  If you are using QB POS Desktop v11 (2013) or v12 you will continue to receive notifications to upgrade.

What is being discontinued?

QuickBooks Point of Sale v11 (2013)

  • Intuit Software Support & Updates
  • Intuit Store Exchange Method
  • Gift Cards

QuickBooks Point of Sale v12

  • Intuit Software Support & Updates
  • Intuit Store Exchange Method

What are my options?

  1. Upgrade to QuickBooks Point of Sale v18
  2. Switch to another Point of Sale application, such as Revel POS
  3. Let iPOS support you a little longer, then upgrade to QB POS v18.  iPOS will continue to support QB POS v11 & v12 until we determine we can no longer efficiently support the product.

If you are processing credit cards with an integrated processor such as Intuit Merchant Service or Vantiv Integrated Payments, our recommendation is to upgrade to v18.

iPOS highly recommends staying on the current version of Point of Sale.  A couple options to accomplish this is to either budget for an annual POS upgrade, or, switch to a Point of Sale system such as Revel POS, which has a monthly fee in place of an up-front fee and annual upgrade fees.

Contact iPOS to discuss your specific needs.  (570) 906-8598 option 2
