Removing Outlets and Registers
Please review this article fully as it provides instruction and detail for removing the registers, as well as important information / things you should know before doing so.
Steps Include:
- Prepare by closing any open sales, closing the register, and saving the register closure summary as a PDF
- We suggest saving as a PDF because the register's closures will be deleted from the register closure reporting page and you will not be able to access this after deletion.
- Delete the register (this can not be undone)
- Update your license (to reduce subscription fees)
NOTES / CONSIDERATIONS
REPORTING
After deleting a register, you will still be able to generate reports on the deleted register. To do this, type in the name of the register in the filter bar and the date range on the reports you wish to run.
CONSIDERATIONS
Consider how you will re-create the registers when activating them in the future during your busy season as how they are named will impact your reporting.
OPTION 1: Rename Registers The Same
- When re-creating a register, the system does not specify if backend IDs are created or if names must match exactly.
- However, for consistency and ease of reporting, it would be prudent to use the same register names when re-creating them.
- This way, you can more easily compare year-over-year figures by using the same identifiers for each register (would require sorting by dates)
OPTION 2: Rename Registers with Year or Dates
- This allows you to clearly separate each deleted and newly created register from each other when reviewing reports.
