[LSR] How to Reconfigure a Lightspeed Accounting/Shogo Connection to a QBF Desktop Company File When it is Moved From the Original Computer to a New One

If you use either Lightspeed Accounting or Shogo with Lightspeed R-Series or X-Series to send data to a QBF Desktop company file and the location of the company file is changed either to a different folder or to another workstation, changes need to be made to the configuration so that the QB Web Connector knows the new location of the QBF company file so that the data transfer is successful going forward.

In this example the original location and name of the QBF Desktop company file is listed below.

  • C:\Users\Public\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files\Demo R-Series.qbw

The new location and name of the QBF Desktop company file is listed below.

  • \\QB-LAB\Users\Public\Documents\QuickBooks\Company Files\Demo R-Series.qbw
  1. Log into Lightspeed Accounting here or Shogo here depending upon which one you are using.

  1. From the menu bar, first click "Settings" and then click "Accounting".

  1. Select the connection by clicking "View Details".

  1. Once the connection has been brought up, you will see the original location and name of the QBF Desktop company file.

  1. Click the link listed in the field named "Company File" to be able to update the file path and name of where the QBF Desktop company file is now located.

  1. Make the needed changes to the file path and name.

  1. In this example we changed the original file path and name from "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files\Demo R-Series.qbw" to "\\QB-LAB\Users\Public\Documents\QuickBooks\Company Files\Demo R-Series.qbw".
  2. Click the checkmark icon to save the changes to your Lightspeed Accounting/Shogo account.

  1. You will now see that the file path and name of the QBF company file has changed in the field named "Company File".

  1. The QB Web Connector will now connect to the updated file path and name of your QBF Desktop company file.
