iPOS has been made aware that some clients are receiving a pop-up in Google Chrome when logging into Lightspeed POS R-Series regarding changing their password as it is reported as being part of a data breach. In some cases, they are not able to bypass this to login. See below for instructions and screenshots for steps to configure Google Chrome to Disable this.
Please note that iPOS encourages you to consider changing your password(s) and always using strong, secure passwords to ensure the protection of your confidential business data.
- Open Google Chrome.
- In the upper right hand in Chrome, click the ellipsis icon (which are three dots).
- In the drop down menu, click "Settings".
- In the left hand pane, click "Privacy and security".
- In the main pane, click "Security".
- In the main pane under "Standard protection", disable the option named "Warn you if a password was compromised in a data breach".
- You will now see that this option is now disabled as shown below.
