Revel POS: 2.73 Release Notes (Summarized)

New Features in Version 2.73

  • You can now set a default quantity for product modifiers, which will appear on the point of sale to help make checkout even quicker.
  • Split Combos can now be managed in the same way as Group and Linked combos for a consistent UI/UX experience.
  • You can now mark an 86 item as unavailable from the point of sale and set a time for it to automatically become available again. This will affect any linked items; for instance, if you mark pepperoni as unavailable, a pepperoni pizza will also be unavailable.
  • With Discount Floors, the price of your product (including modifiers) will not go below the floor, no matter the discount.
  • Surcharges in Discounts will now reduce the discount amount by the product surcharge, allowing for premium pricing on certain products.
  • With Delivery Zone Service Fees, you can build GeoJSON zones and apply a different service fee to each zone.
  • With Deferred Modifiers, you now have the ability to add products to the order without first configuring all the modifiers.
  • With Employee Clock-In Notifications, you can control whether your employees need to see/acknowledge a custom message when clocking in.
  • Now, the only due date enforcement for Pickup Ordering is you cannot set the Due Date in the past.
  • Your customers can now split an order between two payments types through the WebOrder API.
  • Revel is now integrated with DoorDash Drive. You can now offer your DoorDash Drive customers order tracking, scheduled or ASAP orders and sophisticated delivery time estimation.
  • OOXT now supports SMS confirmations when orders are placed.
  • Surcharges will now bed isplayed at checkout inOOXT.
  • Online Ordering XT will now be supported by Revel Advantage International. Revel Advantage International is an in-house payment processing solution powered by Adyen available to Revel clients in the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, with plans for expansion to other countries in the near future.
  • Reduce fraud (and fees!) in Online Ordering XT with Revel Advantage International and FreedomPay with our new address verification system (AVS) and 3DS security features. AVS is a security measure that allows you to authenticate the ownership of the card used in card-not-present transactions. 3DS is a security protocol that was designed to allow a cardholder to authenticate its identity to prevent payment fraud, prevent unauthorized transactions and reduce chargebacks.Note: 3DS feature is only available for merchants using FreedomPay with Online Ordering XT in the United Kingdom.
  • We have also given the FreedomPay Online Ordering XT checkout experience an improved design for a better consumer experience.
  • Punchh Loyalty on CDS XT now supports: account lookup via phone or email, input mirroring between POS & CDS, account removal from order (logout), and a warning for merchants if payment is initiated before lookup is completed.
  • Early Read is a payment flow that allows customers to complete a card interaction at the payment terminal before the final order amount is known. This flow will help you offer a faster speed of service, and is available for clients utilizing Revel Advantage, powered by TriPOS and FreedomPay payment gateways.
  • For our TSR customers we have enhancements to order pre-authorization and linking. You no longer need to insert and then swipe your card to preauthorize and link an order to a transaction. Now you can preauthorize and link a card to an order in one action by just tapping or inserting your card.
  • Card matching criteria have also been improved for bar tab linking and pre-authorization. It’s now possible to link cards which were not previously linkable due to a missing or mismatched cardholder name.
  • Revel SmartPay will now be supported by Revel Advantage International. Revel Advantage International is an in-house payment processing solution powered by Adyen available to Revel clients in the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, with plans for expansion to other countries in the near future.
  • Address Verification System (AVS) is now available with all our supported payment integrations in Revel SmartPay. AVS is a security measure that allows you to authenticate the ownership of the card used in card-not-present transactions.
  • Revel SmartPay is part of our core offering and is a contactless way to pay from your mobile device through a QR code or text message. With our 2.73 release we’re adding support for ApplePay as a payment method for clients using the FreedomPay gateway. 
  • In 2.73, Revel SmartPay makes it easier for consumers to understand what they are paying for when combo pricing applies with our new combo pricing display.
  • An ASAP optionhas been added to the KDS allowing any order that is marked as such will have "ASAP" added to the due date on the KDS.
  • We’ve added an auto-retry function for printers, so that an unattended or offline printer will continue to retry the print.
